Conference attendees will enjoy our keynote session, presented by Anna Maria Chávez, attorney and community leader, as well as our federal policy session, presented by Jee Hang Lee, Senior Vice President of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and David Baime, Senior Vice President for government relations and policy analysis for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). We have exciting breakout sessions planned, covering topics such as diversity and inclusion, College and Career Transition Counselors, mental health, and Manufacturing 4.0. Our conference will also highlight each of our Community Colleges and their unique offerings and programs during our session, 15 Ideas from 15 colleges. Last but not least, winners of our IACCT awards will be announced by none other than Mike Rowe, host of "Dirty Jobs" and advocate for skilled jobs training and workers.

    Anna Maria Chávez is an attorney, inspirational speaker, writer and community leader. Chávez served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of the USA and was the first woman of color to head the organization. She will share her personal narrative and leadership experiences as well as her ideas for how Community Colleges can help reshape the future of our country.

    What's Happening in Washington: Policies Affecting our Colleges

    Join the federal advocacy leaders from the Association of Community College Trustees and the American Association for Community Colleges for a discussion of Community College proposals and discussions happening at the federal level. Jee Hang Lee, Senior Vice President at ACCT, and David Baime, Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Policy Analysis at American Association of Community Colleges, will cover everything from relief funding to free Community College to expanded Pell grants.
