Alexces Bartley

Director & Network Building, MOSourceLink

Alexces Bartley is the Director and Network Builder for MOSourceLink, a program of the Innovation Center at UMKC, which also serves Missouri’s EDA-supported University Center. MOSourceLink is building statewide infrastructure for entrepreneurs by working with the Resource Network across the state to connect service organizations, increase awareness of Missouri entrepreneurship and provide a central access portal—hotline, website, calendar—for Missouri entrepreneurs. The goal is to make resources more visible and accessible to our current and future job creators and to help pave a path to make Missouri the state for innovation. As the Network Builder, Alexces meets with Resource Partners and entrepreneurs across Missouri, discovers new resources for entrepreneurs and researches new ways to strengthen and build networks to sustain Missouri’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Under her guidance, the MOSourceLink network has grown to more than 600 partners and has produced an initial set of baseline reports to measure the continued growth of Missouri’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Show Me Jobs report highlights the economic impact of Missouri’s new and young firms on job creation. Show Me Capital highlights gaps in available capital and maps a community action plan to improve access to that capital for Missouri’s early-stage startups and businesses across debt, grants and equity financing. Alexces relocated Missouri from Oklahoma in 2018 to join the MOSourceLink team in Kansas City. She brings nearly a decade of experience working with small businesses. Before she brought her talents to the Show-Me State, Alexces developed entrepreneur support programming and formed national and regional partnerships to foster growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Oklahoma through her role as the programs and outreach manager at the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
