Gwen Mizell
Vice President, Sustainability and Electrification, Ameren
Gwen Mizell is vice president of sustainability and electrification at Ameren. In her new role, Mizell will leverage her 32 years in the industry to lead Ameren’s efforts to develop strategies and policies for efficient electrification programs that benefit customers, the environment and the company. She will retain her responsibilities for Ameren’s corporate social responsibility efforts, which she has overseen in her previous role as senior director of corporate social responsibility.
Mizell joined Ameren in 2015 as director of diversity and inclusion, supporting Ameren’s diversity and inclusion efforts through corporate-wide initiatives, program design and leadership of employee diversity groups. Mizell holds a master’s degree in management and public policy analysis from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mizell completed a public policy and management summer institute at the Harvard Kennedy School and obtained a certification in strategic diversity management from Georgetown University. She currently serves on the St. Louis County Workforce Investment Board and the Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club. Mizell is also the vice president of the local chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy and is executive director of the Mizell Legacy Foundation.
